We believe that our five purposes are given to us
from the New Testament. The Great commandment (Matt.22:37-40) & the
Great Commission (Matt. 28:19-20).
|
|
|
The five purposes are found in these two passages. |
|
|
1. Worship: |
"Love the Lord your God with all your heart" (Exalt)- End of month youth concerts! |
| 2. Ministry: | "Love your neighbor as yourself" (Experience)-Visit shut ins, mission trips! |
| 3. Evangelism: | "Go and make disciples" (Expose)-Community basketball tournament. |
| 4. Fellowship: | "Baptizing them" (Enjoy)- Quality Confirmation Classes, spring break camp. |
| 5. Discipleship: | "Teaching them to obey" (Equip)-Provide spiritual journals, group & self bible studies! |
| Their should never be any question what our purpose is. | |
| Our Mission statement simply says how we will accomplish our purposes. | |
|
SPY (St. Philip's youth group) exists to
Expose teenagers to Jesus Christ's love, to
Equip them to Exalt Jesus
Christ, Enjoy other believers, and Experience
