Chancel Choir

The Chancel Choir has all levels of experience from beginners to professionals. The choir is open to high school singers and adult singers of any age. We perform a variety of musical styles and typically perform two large works annually. No auditions are required, only the ability to sing and a great desire to learn and rehearse all styles of music. The Chancel Choir is a very friendly group. Several social activities occur during the year. This choir helps celebrate worship during the 10:30 Service. Meets every Wednesday at 7:00 pm. in the choir room. (top)

Souled Out Praise

"Souled Out Praise" provides special music for services and is also involved in the community, performing for special events of all sorts. With songs by performers like Michael W. Smith, Point of Grace, Steven Curtis Chapman, Darlene Zschech, and others, "Souled Out Praise" is leading the way in providing our community with a new way of praising God through Song. Rehearsals are in the choir room and the sanctuary.  This group requires an audition.  (top)

Handbells

St. Philip’s welcomes anyone of middle school age or much older who is interested in learning to ring hand bells.   The only requirement is a need to make music and the ability to count. Hand bell ringers must read music, but only 2 notes.  Yes, just 2 notes!  One for the left hand and one for the right!   That’s all you’re responsible for learning to read and ring, and we'll help you learn.  If you're already a great music reader, that will make it very easy for you to begin ringing.  The biggest contribution a bell ringer makes is commitment to music ministry.  All must be present at rehearsal or literally, 2 notes from the melody are always missing.  You'll always feel needed!

The Bell Choir presents music in the 10:30 worship service rings for special events like Easter, Christmas and the Road to Bethlehem. If you are looking for a warm group to serve with, this choir is for you.  We will teach you everything you need to know.  (top)

Youth Choir/Youth Praise Team

Our Youth Choir is open to Singers and Instrumentalists Grades 6-12. This group sings about once a quarter. High school and advanced middle school instrumentalists (orchestra or band) as well as guitar, bass, percussion, and keyboard players are encouraged to attend rehearsal.   (top)

Children’s Choirs

    SonBeams Kindergarten - Grade 2
    SonSingers Grades 3 - 5

The Children’s Choirs sing as a part of worship services throughout the church year as well as on special occasions during the Christmas and Easter Seasons and for the Road to Bethlehem. SonBeams seeks to introduce children to the choir experience in a joyful, fun setting. SonSingers seeks to further develop music choir skills through sound musical instruction and lots of fun. Children's Choir is a wonderful way to build your child's faith and develop it for adulthood. Children's choir parents are always needed to help with the program.

Both Children’s Choirs contribute to the church’s 10:30 worship service four or five times a year. The choirs will participate in the Road to Bethlehem and will also present a musical annually.   (top)

Musicians in Worship

Brass, woodwind, string, percussion, guitar, and keyboard instruments all have a place in worship and can contribute and enhance music in the worship service. There are many different possibilities for solo and ensemble music. Rehearsals will be scheduled as needed. (top)

Praise In Motion Dance Team

This group strives to magnify God through dance as an expression of praise to God. The ministry team consists girls, grades 4-12, and performs during the morning worship service and for special services. Rehearsals are scheduled as needed. (top)

Sound Technicians

We offer training once every six months for people to help in the Sound Room. This is a very important position and we are always in need for another hand on Sunday’s.  (top)

Puppets / Drama

St. Philip’s puppet and drama ministries provide expressive outlets for individuals who are blessed with expressive talents not specifically associated with music.

The Puppet Ministry performs during the worship service, at special events, children's church, and at local children's events.

The Drama Ministry performs during the worship service and at special events.

Rehearsals are scheduled as needed. (top)
