Faith Promise

St. Philip's has had for many years a ministry called "Faith Promise", which was established for individuals who feel a need to support missions projects, over and above those that the United Methodist Church already supports through normal tithes to the General Budget

These individuals met and identified people or organizations they wanted to sponsor through extra "Faith Promise" Giving.  This special kind of giving involves three elements:  faith, promise, and gift.

Faith is required to believe that God will provide the funds to give, usually as extra or new income that is not known at the time one's faith directs the participant to make a commitment.

The Promise is one's word of honor that as God provides the funds, we will be faithful to pass them on for the designated missions need.

The Gift is multiplied to all who are involved.  The one who makes the promise receives the gift of funds, the church receives the gift designated for missions, and the missionary or project receives the gift to be used for their ministry.
