“Chillin’ at the Church”

Back by popular demand, the Ladies Retreat Committee Chili Cook-Off will be held Sunday, February 1st (right after church) in the gymnasium. Everyone is invited to attend and donate a few dollars (or more) to who you think has the best chili!!!

Sunday school classes, small groups or individuals are invited to participate in this fun-filled event of friendly chili tastin’ competition.  Enter your best Chili:  Hot, Mild, Chicken, Beef, Beans, etc.    All the trimmings will be provided (cheese, onions, sour cream, crackers, drinks, etc.).

The winner of the Chili Cook-Off will be determined by who has the most $$$ collected in their baskets.

All proceeds from the cook-off  will go towards the Ladies Retreat on April 24 – 26, 2015.

Bishop McKee’s 2015 Bible Study

Excerpt from Bishop Mckee’s statement about the bible study:

Engaging in this weekly reading will not bring good luck or good fortune. You may develop a new habit. What I pray happens is that we learn something new about Jesus, whom we know as Lord, and that we understand the beginning of the early Christian church. Hopefully, the truths of the Gospel and the impact of the church will bring you something better than luck: a deeper awareness of God’s claim upon your life and the expectations God has of you.

My New Year’s resolution looks something like this: “I will live in such a way as to be a more deeply committed disciple of the Christ.”

You don’t have to do anything to participate however you do have the option to sign up on the Bishop’s home page and you can subscribe to the new Facebook page created for this project.
